Every week either Bobby Tanzilo or I join WMSE's promotions director Brent Gohde in podcast to break down the week in local music and play songs from a few of the bands who have upcoming gigs around town.
This week we took it back almost a decade and started things off with "Too Many Flakes" by Couch Flambeau, which plays with Live Fast Die at the Cactus Club this Saturday night, Feb. 10.
We give you a taste of Vega Star (Original members Joe Crockett, John Crockett and Jordan Burich later went on to form The Championship, another successful Milwaukee band) which plays a show that same night at the Bremen Café.
We feature a live-on-WMSE track by Mercury Crossing, which plays a benefit show for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at the Todd Wehr Auditorium on Friday, Feb. 9, and wrap up this week's local music podcast with a band called No Longer Micah, which plays with Aviator at the Riverwest Commons that same night.
Thanks for supporting local music!

Great show this Thursday: Girlyman at Shank Hall. I ganked this from their Web site: "Imagine a modern-day Peter, Paul & Mary only edgier, and with a quirky sense of humor."
