The Dave Matthews Band, whose shows have been summer fixture at Alpine Valley Music Theater in recent years, will visit East Troy July 18 and 19, it was announced today.

The band's latest studio album, which is awaiting a title, hits stores on June 2. The group has sold 35 million CDs and 15 million tickets.

"Summer means two things in America: It's hot, and the Dave Matthews Band are on tour," Rolling Stone wrote.

Umphrey's McGee will open the Alpine Valley shows.

Dave Matthews Band is Carter Beauford (drums), Stefan Lessard (bass), Dave Matthews (vocals, guitar) and Boyd Tinsley (violin). Joining the group on tour will be Tim Reynolds on guitar, Rashawn Ross on trumpet and Jeff Coffin -- who recently played at Marquette -- on saxophone, who are also featured on the new album.
