August is nearly over, but music in Milwaukee never quits. WMSE's Brent Gohde and I are here to make sure you all know that.
If you're catching this on Tuesday, Aug. 28 then you haven't missed tonight's last edition of the Chill on the Hill music series at Humboldt Park in Bay View. Jason Seed Elixir Ensemble takes the Humboldt Park Bandshell stage from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for an outdoor set. Take a listen to "Start All Over Again" to see what you're getting your ears into later tonight.
Brent would like everyone to know how excited he is that Helmet is playing at Vnuk's Lounge this Friday, Aug. 31. Tickets are $15 and you can get them via the Vnuk's Web site. Burning Brides and Milwaukee's 1956 open the show.
Milwaukee music man Kid Millions -- who you might recognize from Lotus Land Records -- opens The Nightcrawlers' Stonefly Brewing Co. show this Friday, Aug. 31. The show starts at 10 p.m. and of course, due to the plethora of delicious locally brewed beers at Stonefly, the show is 21 and over.
We leave you with a two-for Tuesday; lucky you! The Mad Planet hosts a CD release party for the Revolving Doors, a band you can listen to on this podcast and then read about here. The Revolving Doors share the bill with The Wildbirds, an Appleton-bred band that has since made its way to California. Expect big things, and in the meantime, listen to the ultra catchy single, "Shake, Shake."
