This installment of the OnMilwaukee.com/WMSE Local Music Podcast is a tad shorter than usual, as Brent Gohde and I only had time to showcase three Milwaukee bands for you. But, as always, what we lack in quantity is surely compensated for in quality. This week's triple threat comes in the form of music by Paul Cebar, Bleed and The Saltshakers.
Paul Cebar's "Tommorow Sound Now For Yes Music People" dropped about a month ago and has been dubbed his best effort to date by fans and critics. Take a listen to "The Gimp Sparrow" and then go see him play live with his crack band The Milwaukeeans at Stonefly Brewing Co. this Saturday, May 12.
Just over two months ago, Milwaukee's Bleed was forced to cancel its Cactus Club appearance -- as were many, many other bands and events -- due to a huge dumping of snow upon the city. Join the bands for take two of that performance this Saturday, May 12 at Cactus Club with The Barettes, and in the meantime check out Motor Psycho's "Lusty Lady."
The Saltshakers are out and about, playing a gig at The Mad Planet this Saturday, May 12. We're hoping Chad and the gang have some new material to share with us this weekend, but that's not to say that we still don't love songs like "Don't Make A Sound" off of 2004's "A Beautiful Mess."
