Milwaukee's own Violent Femmes will lead an eclectic mix of headlining acts at the Miller Lite Oasis, Summerfest officials announced today.
The Femmes, who are playing dates this month in Australia, France, Spain and Italy, play the Oasis on June 28, the opening night of Summerfest's 40th Anniversary celebration.
The Goo Goo Dolls (June 30), Heart (July 2) and the Black Crowes (July 4) are among the acts slated to play headline gigs at the Oasis, which underwent a major renovation last year that expanded the capacity of the stage.
A headline act for July 7 has not been named. Here is the rest of the lineup:
June 28 -- Violent Femmes
June 29 -- O.A.R
June 30 -- Goo Goo Dolls
July 1 -- Sister Hazel
July 2 -- Heart
July 3 -- Buddy Guy
July 4 -- The Black Crowes
July 5 -- All-American Rejects
July 6 -- Augustana
July 7 -- To be announced
July 8 -- Lupe Fiasco

isn't brian ritchie too upset with gordon gano cheapening his "art" in the Wendy's commercial to play with him in the Femmes? oh, yeah, the gig pays well. I'm sure good 'ol brian wouldn't make a stand and turn down THAT pay day.

there's a couple decent acts in there, but overall this is awful... Sister Hazel? Heart? maybe they mistakenly released some county fair lineup???
