And the Swedish music takeover continues. The Pabst Theater today announced a lower level "intimate" performance by singer / songwriter Jose Gonzalez set for Tuesday, March 18.
Known for his hushed vocals lace soft melodies over intricate, fingerpicking in songs that feel both light and intense simultaneously.
His 2003 debut album, "Veneer," achieved gold status in Sweden -- as well as earning platinum awards in the UK and Ireland -- garnering plentiful comparisons to songwriting titans from Nick Drake to Paul Simon. "Veneer" saw U.S. release in 2005, and its popularity was bolstered by the appearance of "Crosses" on "The O.C."
Jose Gonzalez finally unleashed "Veneer's" much-anticipated follow-up, "In Our Nature," which the "New York Post" immediately dubbed one of the year's 40 best albums.
Tickets are $15 and go on sale Friday, Jan. 18 at noon at The Pabst Theater box office, online at www.pabsttheater.org and www.tickets.com, or by calling (414) 286-3663 or (800) 511-1552.
