As a sponsor of the East Town Association's Jazz in the Park, we're always looking for ways to improve the event and to continue its growth.
Today, the event's producers want you to participate in a short survey and voice your likes and dislike about this ever-popular and seemingly ever-growing Thursday night event in Downtown Milwaukee.
My two ideas, for what they are worth:

The genre changes and corporate invasion are two of the largest reasons that I no longer attend Jazz in the Park. VIP tables seem like a very pretentious thing for an event that is meant to bring all types of people together. In my humble opinion, it should remain free. Although it sounds nice to have more nationally renound acts, it would change this event into something completely different. Showcasing local Jazz talent is something that I strongly support.

I no longer attend Jazz in the park due to corporate take overs, tables reserved idea takes away from the simple event it was/ it is just not as fun, change is growth but somethings are just better left alone. It is sad that the people of all ages have to fight for a sit and the auroa isn't about the free music anymore. I was wondering how long it would take to change it up, corporate tables, is there a republican the head of this event?

Sorry Jeff, but I have to disagree with BOTH of your points. Making people pay for a section will turn this into a money taking event that would snowball into a whole different festival then what this was supposed to be. Also, how would they get these big acts to come? Pay them more? How? Start charging people? My only wish...not really a recommendation...would be to make it JAZZ in the park. Not blues in the park...or salsa in the park. Stick to the original genre please.
