Started 10 years ago in Los Angeles, International Pop Overthrow has become the world's best power pop music festival. Now, the event -- which has expanded to include gigs in other cities like New York and Liverpool, England -- adds Milwaukee.
Linneman's will host four nights of the festival, May 1-4, with bands like Knit Delicate, Trolley, Certain Stars, Spill, The Lackloves, The Pugilists, Jetty Boys and others.
"I decided to add Milwaukee because I had gotten to know a lot of good pop bands from Milwaukee, who had come to play the Chicago IPO over the years," says event founder David Bash.
"It made perfect sense to add Milwaukee given its proximity to Chicago and given that I knew the city had a healthy pop scene."
Stay tuned to OnMilwaukee.com for a full story as the event nears.
