From the musically complex sound of this two man band to the creative artistry of their videos, there's no question Fever Marlene is a great deal of what's to love about Milwaukee.

Several months after their Summerfest performance, Fever Marlene is back on stage tonight as two transforms to six, joined by Andrew Jonathan from Northern Room, Joey Carini from Cocksmiths, John Mcwilliam from On a Sun, and Pete Driscoll.

Keeping in line with complexity and creativity, tonight's Turner Ballroom show is more than simply a live show. Intending to use tonight's audio for a live CD as well as filming the show for a documentary on the band's experience, Scott Starr and Kevin Dunphy constantly transition into something fresh and new.

"We've been filming since we started the band about 5 years ago. So we have piles and piles of tape building up for a future DVD release. Somewhat of a artistic documentary featuring all the studio work we've ever done, shows, time on the road, backstage, parties, interviews and a whole bunch of out-takes," Starr explains.

Currently working on their next album, Fever Marlene teams with musicians from local On a Sun and producer Jack LeTourneau. The band plans to release a live CD from tonight's Turner Ballroom show sometime in January and a studio recording sometime in the spring.

"We have a massive space just north of the city that we've been hiding out in for the past few months. It's actually an old 70's style office complex with multiple conference rooms, warehouse space and a maze of old machinery and stacks of cheese wax. The new album is a bit more loud and melodic anthem rock." Scott Starr explains.

Tonight's Turner Ballroom show includes Treaty of Paris, Geri X and Rae Cassidy. The show is $10 and starts at 8 p.m.

Can't make tonight's show? Either head to Fat Abbey Biercafe for the after party or head to the High Noon Saloon in Madison for a show on December 11.
