Coldplay, which made its first Milwaukee appearance March 12, 2003 at the Eagles Ballroom on its tour supporting its second disc, "A Rush of Blood to the Head," returns to southeastern Wisconsin to play at Alpine Valley on Saturday, July 25.
The band also played Alpine Valley during the tour for "X+Y" on Aug. 13, 2005 and at the Bradley Center on March 19, 2006.
The tour starts July 10 in Portland, Ore., and wraps Aug. 9 in Tampa. It is the latest jaunt in support of "Viva La Vida," the band's fourth album, released in July 2008. The record has topped the chart in 36 countries, including the U.S. and England. It is also the band's fourth straight studio album to be certified multi-Platinum by the RIAA and has sold nearly 8 million copies around the world.
The band's tour starts Feb. 12 in Asia and Australia before hitting North America.
Tickets for the Alpine Valley show go on sale Saturday, Feb. 14 at www.coldplay.com.
In the meantime, you can catch Coldplay on the Grammy telecast Sunday, Feb. 8.
