The Bay View Neighborhood Association's "Chill on the Hill" -- an August outdoor concert series, starts tonight with a free show from King Comets.
The event will take place each Tuesday this month at the Humboldt Park Bandshell and will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
King Comets describes itself as jazz and jump swing. The other acts slated to play are Reilly (Aug. 15), Heads With Wings (Aug. 22) and Upside Groove Coalition (Aug. 29).
According to BVNA event chair Carol Voss, the group hopes to expand the series all summer long in 2007.
"The vibe is much more low key than Jazz in the Park but so relaxing and fun -- a truly cool bandshell and grassy hill seating experience," says Voss.
