For most of their 20-year run at the Bradley Center, the Admirals have brought in national recording acts for post-game concerts.

Some of the artists to hit the ice: The Village People, Eddie Money, Phil Vassar, Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon and Sugarland.

The Admirals plan another big post-game concert Jan. 5, when they take on Chicago on Rich Peverley bobblehead night.

The artist won't be announced at 7:20 a.m. Monday on WKTI (94.5 FM). A teaser item on the Admirals Web site promises that it is a band that has been together more than 20 years and has had numerous No. 1 hits.

Our spies tipped us off to the identity of the band.

Drumroll, please....

The Goo-Goo Dolls.

After making an appearance at the Packers-Lions game on Thanksgiving Day and an AIDS awareness benefit Saturday night in South Africa, the Goos play a show next weekend in Scottsdale, Ariz., take a break for Christmas and reconvene for a New Year's Eve gig in Las Vegas before hitting Milwaukee for a post-game concert that should please hockey and music fans alike.

Remember, you heard it here first.

...I still wanna know what band you're in... Not so I can 'rip on it' or something, I'm just curious. I havent been in a band for a long time, and miss drumming, personally.

eli, i respect that, and also keep in mind i never said the goo goo dolls didn't sell out. some people, though, have no sense of history. people used to hate the bee gees because they didn't like disco, but had no idea they had an awesome discography prior to the disco era. "What's your band called by the way?" bettybcool is right on this, i never should have opened that can of worms. if i ever rip on another local act around here, i'll get a whole lot of grief, because even i don't like another act, chances are they're better than us.

I've been in quote-un-quote rockin bands also, and i doubt anybody on here knows my favorite bands anyways, but whatever. I stick up for favorite bands of mine when people rip on em, but i give up on em when they sell out as bad as a band like the Goo Goo Dolls does (who you are clearly cheerleading for like the group's former band-aid). But you know , I really could care less what other people's opinions of my music are in the end. These talkbacks are individual opinions, so it's expected for people to disagree, it doesn't have to be taken to a personally insulting level. That's pointless... I'm really tryin not to argue with anyone on here anymore. What's your band called by the way?

"Furthermore, my taste in music doesn't have to be okay with anyone but me." i never said otherwise, and i already admitted i'm not cool, so why would i care if you thought i was? you have weird sort of a logic, betty, which is fine. i'm sure your friends understand you perfectly well. the band thing was mentioned as sort of an olive branch. you could come down and actually see what the hell i'm all about. but i don't really care if you show up or not. honest. elicash, i owe you a drink for getting me into this discussion with the wonderfully open-minded bettybcool, so stop on down saturday. merry freakin' xmas everybody!

I say you're not cool by the way you converse on this website, you're unnecessary cheap thus unwitty shots at people, the sole fact that you continue defending the Goo~Goo Dolls, and now you're gagging me with your whole "I'm in a band" thing. Spare me. I have no reason to think that you would be cool and/or different upon meeting you in person. But, okay. Truce. Furthermore, my taste in music doesn't have to be okay with anyone but me... And it shouldn't bother you that I think you're uncool. You act like you care but I sincerely hope that this pointless argument doesn't really matter to you either. Peace out, boy scout.
