Now that general manager J. Mike Ellcessor has accepted the same post at Detroit's FM public radio station WDET, 88Nine Radio Milwaukee begins its search for a replacement.

The Milwaukee Public Schools station has tapped public media recruiter Livingston Associates to lead a national search that runs through Feb. 13. Board chair Eric Resch heads the station's search committee.

The Brooklyn, N.Y.-based Ellcessor joined 88Nine in 2006 and since that time, the station has won a number of local honors.

"Radio For Milwaukee's intense commitment to the city remains, and the organization is very interested in local candidates with significant and effective not-for-profit management experience and a proven track record in fundraising," Resch said in a statement.
