"The Gift of Traditional Martial Art to the Modern World," produced and directed by local filmmaker Jeff Becker -- premieres at Oriental Theatre, 2230 N. Farwell Ave., at 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 17.
The screening is scheduled to coincide with the Genbukan and KJJR 2008 American Taikai international martial arts conference at Marquette University Thursday-Sunday, July 17-20.
Appearing at the premiere screening are martial artists from Asia, Europe and South America including some that can be seen in the film: Grandmaster Shoto Tanemura, and his highest-ranked American student, Milwaukee native Michael Coleman.
The screening is open to the public and admission is $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
