"Legally Blonde" silly yet classy chick flick

What's heart-shaped, pink, fuzzy and found in a Harvard law class? New student Elle Wood's (Reese Witherspoon) notebook, of course. Amongst her lap-top equipped peers, this Bel Aire blonde grins her way to the top of the class in this summer's "Legally Blonde."

This girl power chick flick introduces audiences to Elle Woods, a California sorority girl en route to Harvard Law School to prove to her ex, Warner, that she's smarter than he thinks. Dressed in a sparkling bikini reciting "Days of Our Lives" episodes, Elle gets herself accepted via a video application essay.

While at Harvard, Elle competes against the ex's new brunette fiancé, Vivian (Selma Blair). The two battle it out while interning at a firm defending a fellow blonde aerobics trainer.

"Legally Blonde" proves to be a smart comedy with clutch one-liners like, "law school is for the smart, ugly and boring" and the ever infamous "bend and snap" seduction dance all without a mushy love story that would only muffle the comedy.

"Legally Blonde" is a silly yet classy film. The same can be said of Witherspoon who plays a stereotypical blonde with intelligence. Her performance makes her more likable and less ditzy through each scene.

In the end, Elle wins the case and self-confidence within her own realm of expertise -- a hair care technicality.
