Local filmmaker Jim Muraco -- creator of "Wisconsin Born & Bred" -- will release a new documentary later this year called "It's My House."
The documentary showcases unique Milwaukee-area homes and their owners, including Alan Eisenberg's French Horn Tree on Lake Drive, the house on Humboldt with the cars buried in the yard, Bill Lennon's Packers House, Mary Nohl's Witch House, The Boathouse on Cambridge and more.
All the homes were painted on canvas by Milwaukee area artists Jill Verbick, Jim Stevens, Blanche Brown, Ann Baer, Fallicy Belle, Allison Beielke, Keith Bolyard, Julie Sanfelipe, Elizabeth Meden, Kate Shank and others.
The film's soundtrack features all local musicians, including BoDeans, Pat Netteshiem, Orphonic Orchestra, Julie Thompson, Mike Shank of "American Movie" (the director of that film, Chris Smith, also made a documentary about houses, called "Home Movie" in 2001), Lovin' Kind, Jesse Gutten and Pat McCurdy.
Check out the trailer on YouTube.
