Grace Weber, the singer from Wauwatosa who made it into the first round of Oprah Winfrey's karaoke competition with a powerful rendition of Aretha Franklin's "Natural Woman," was sent home Friday.
Three singers, all men, made it into next week's finals.
But Weber and four others who didn't make it through, after viewers of Winfrey's daytime TV show voted by telephone and Internet, didn't go home empty-handed.
"Each one of you is a big winner, so we're sending all five of you home with a little something," Winfrey told them. "You're each going home with $25,000."
