Curious about what it is like to be Jewish in small-town Wisconsin, the students and faculty of the Peck School of the Arts film department's docUWM made a documentary film on the subject.

"Chosen Towns" screens free at a number of locations in the coming weeks:

• Tuesday, Sept. 23, 7:30 p.m. -- UW-Madison Memorial Union Play Circle
• Thursday, Sept. 25, 7 p.m. -- Moses Montefiore Synagogue, Appleton
• Sunday, Sept. 28, 7 p.m. -- Congregation Sons of Abraham, La Crosse
• Thursday, Oct. 2, 7 p.m. -- Beth Hillel Temple, Kenosha
• Monday, Oct. 6, 1 p.m. -- Jewish Museum, Milwaukee
• Sunday, Oct. 12, noon -- Congregation Beth El, Sheboygan

The docUWM student filmmakers and will be at the previews to discuss the making of the film and answer questions.

"Chosen Towns" will also air on Wisconsin Public Television at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
