The center houses a bookstore with over 25,000 small press titles and an art gallery, which hosts exhibitions, artist talks, readings, experimental films, concerts and writing workshops for both adults and children. A non-profit organization.

Three Duos + One Trio

Christopher Burns composes chamber and electroacoustic music and, as a performer, improvises with a laptop computer. Steve Nelson-Raney composes and performs actively in the realms of jazz, contemporary music and free improvisation on soprano saxophone and piano. Hal Rammel designs and builds amplified musical instruments and improvises and composes with these in a wide variety of contexts.

Bio-Poetics: Science, Language and Poetry with Marie Larson

Investigate the many ways scientific inquiry serves as raw material for writing poems and explore how scientific ideas can lend a language for discussing poetic structure. How is a poem a living organism? How is it a black hole? A membrane? Widen and shift your poetic vocabulary and perception of the phenomena around you through writing exercises and looking at works by writers working from science. Cost is $30, or $25 for members.
