What is a blog? For us it is a short blurb that we write when the mood strikes us. It can be first person, funny or informative. In short, a blog is whatever we want it to be. Published June 9, 2008 at 10:06 a.m.

Steve Jobs takes the podium at the Apple Developers Conference in about two hours, and it's widely expected that he'll announce a new iPhone.

I've followed the story very carefully these last few months, and I'm ready to pounce today if the new iPhone becomes available.

Since everyone and their uncle have weighed in with their predictions, I will, too. No, I'm not an expert, though I've used Apple products exclusively since 1985. That's largely why I passed on the first generation iPhone. Like everything else this cult-like company unveils, it gets replaced by something twice as good in a year or so.

If, for no other reason than for personal bragging rights (or to open myself up to Talkbacks declaring that I'm an idiot), here's what I predict today's announcement will bring:

  • 3G support (But can AT&T just bring cell phone coverage to Bay View?)
  • GPS
  • Thinner, more plastic design
  • One color (not red, like Photoshopped fakes floating around)
  • Same-sized screen
  • Front-facing video camera for iChat (I doubt this will happen, but I'm going out on a limb)
  • 8 and 16 GB models
  • $199 subsidized pricing
  • Available now

Again, this is based on nothing more than what I've read from reputable and less than reputable sources.

Just floating it out there, and we'll know the real story in a few hours.
