Café Vecchio Mondo, 1137 N. Old World Third St., well known for its 100+ wine list and impressive martinis, has added art to its arsenal. Local artist Beth Bojarski has hooked up with Vecchio to sell limited edition prints featuring a pair of cool, whimsical martini images.

OnMilwaukee.com has the first look at these prints that are now for sale, and we have some background on the artist. Incidentally, Bojarski's boyfriend did the metal work inside Vecchio.

After college, Bojarski began working as an artist for Kohl's Department Stores product development team. Eventually, she became manager of the art staff and helped to design artwork that was used on dinner wear, bath accessories, and clothes for men, women and children. In the meantime, her father Jerry Bojarski had opened a shop called Milwaukee Art Exchange that sold original artwork from some 25 artists.

"If it wasn't for my dad opening the shop, I wouldn't be where I am today. My job at Kohl's allowed me the opportunity to work creatively while getting a steady paycheck, but more importantly, it gave me the time to develop my paintings into what you see today. My dad's shop gave me the outlet to display the paintings and get feedback. It was a great situation," Bojarski told us.

Now she's painting on her own and doing some unique work. Beth's description of her work is basically whimsical oil paintings..."the characters catch your eye and then the words or stories I add to the piece pull you in," she said.

See her work for yourself at Café Vecchio. For directions click here.
