Old Navy: Is it still a destination shop? |

Earlier this week, OnMilwaukee.com reported that Old Navy will close in the Shops of Grand Avenue on May 5. This particular closing is not necessarily a reflection on Old Navy, but it could also suggest that the clothing superstore is nearing its expiration date.
What are your thoughts on Old Navy? Tragically year 2000 or is it keeping up with the times? Sound-off, Milwaukee!
Old Navy is still cool. Old Navy has great deals and their fashions are simple and trendy. It's a great place to pick up a few wardrobe refreshers without breaking the bank. Plus, they have great kids' clothing. It's just fun to shop at Old Navy because the environment is always upbeat.
Stick a fork in Old Navy. Old Navy was cool five years ago, but now, it's feeling a bit dated. How many years in a row can they push cargo and capri pants? Old Navy had a great run, but it's time to make room for clothing stores that have the look and feel of 2010.

Yes... Old Navy clothes are not the trendiest thing in the world, but it's classic staple clothing, especially for little kids. It's not like they are selling day-glo scrunchy socks from the 80s.... it's basic, basic jeans and tshirts. Old Navy leaving Grand Avenue has NOTHING to do with Old Navy.... Grand Avenue Mall is an embarrassment to downtown Milwaukee.

The retailers know it, the public knows it, even former Mayor Norquist admited it, everyone seems to know that the Grand Avenue is done except the foolish City leaders who continue to insist things are fine and continue to throw money at it. GIVE IT UP!

Old Navy is priced right, so they should be fine. I think Kohls the store in trouble, with a huge inventory and very little fashion sense.

Old Navy has good kids clothes... Please. The stuff for kids, just like adults, is junk. I will admit, I certainly own some Old Navy clothes (t-shirts), but the quality is awful. As for the kids clothes, they are not even that cheap. Wait for a sale at Macy's and get your kids stuff. We do. Better quality. Same prices... and your kid doesn't have to look like every other ragamuffin whose parents plopped down $50 for a whole seasons wardrobe!

I Love Old Navy, especially for my daughters. Most of their wardrobe is from Old Navy. I hope Old Navy is around for a long time to come, because their clothes are affordable and they look great on my kids. I just bought a pile of flips-flops there, t-shirts, and a great skirt. One thing though, I want to know what people are doing to their clothes that make them fall apart. My seven old does EVERYTHING in her Old Navy clothes and nothing has EVER fallen apart. That is with repeated pre-treating, washing in Tide, running through a dryer and everything looks great. My oldest wears the juniors stuff, and everything comes out great also.
