Former Executive Director of Wisconsin State Fair Park, Randy Prasse, has been named General Manager of the Milwaukee branch of Impark, Imperial Parking Corporation, one of the largest parking management companies in North America. Prasse will now oversee parking operations at State Fair, Miller Park and 24 structures and surface lots throughout Downtown Milwaukee.
Prasse announced his resignation from State Fair on Dec. 9, 2008. Under Prasse's leadership, the Fair saw major upgrades to its entertainment lineup and an increase in sponsorships, including a naming-rights deal with U.S. Cellular. That agreement helped the fair generate a $1.3 million profit for the fiscal year ending in 2007. State Fair has yet to name a new director.
Prasse brings events and Downtown Milwaukee knowledge and experience to his job since prior to his four years at the Fair, Prassse was Executive Director of the East Town Association, known for such popular events as Bastille Days, Jazz in the Park, East Town Market, and Gallery Night & Day.
"Randy is a great fit for Impark's Milwaukee operations. He comes to us as a former client, so he has experienced our professional, client-focused approach to service first-hand," said Michael McKeon, vice president of Impark's central U.S. region. "Additionally, Randy's established network of community leaders will have an immediate positive impact in retaining and growing our business in Milwaukee."
Frank Mack, Impark's general manager since 2006, is transitioning into the role of operations manager for the Milwaukee branch.

Prasse should have an easy start to this job. Here are 6 simple ways to improve how parking is handled. 1. Take credit cards in addition to cash. Less than $20, no signing; swipe and go. 2. Train the workers to work quickly 3. Train the workers to communicate clearly 4. Train the workers to direct traffic effectively 5. Keep the lines moving 6. Get rid of the guy standing next to the "Preferred Parking" sign who askes if you want preferred parking

Not only wasted tailgating time but wasted gas which turns into more toxic emissions that in turn cause global warming which in turn will be the end of us all.

So this is the guy I can blame for hiring half of the parking staff at Miller Park from the nursing home? Lets face it, it takes gramps longer to get me the change for the $8 fee from my $20 than someone a little more youthful. Extrapolate that over 10,000 cars and you've got some serious wasted tail gating time!
