What is a blog? For us it is a short blurb that we write when the mood strikes us. It can be first person, funny or informative. In short, a blog is whatever we want it to be. Published Nov. 15, 2007 at 5:43 p.m.

An OnMilwaukee.com reader sent me an email saying she noticed Boston Store sold perfume for dogs. Online, I found the perfume -- called Dog Pawfum by Juicy Couture --for $60. Juicy Couture also sells a plethora of products for pup pamering like dog nail polish ($14) and dog paw polish remover ($15.) All of these gimmicky goods have "Paris Hilton" written all over them.

In the email, the reader said -- and I tend to agree -- that such a product seems cruel, considering dog's noses are so sensitive. Even though the copy on the bottle says owners should spray the perfume on their hands, and then work it into the fur, it's disturbing to consider how many people might not read the bottle and instead spray it directly at their dogs and accidentally get it in their eyes, mouths, ears and their afore-mentioned noses.

The Juicy Couture Company – owned by Liz Clairborne – has the tagline "Made in the glamorous USA." Gela Nash Taylor, the co-founder of the company, is the wife of Duran Duran bassist John Taylor and had a Barbie doll -- dressed in miniature Juicy Couture clothing -- created in her likeness.

Suddenly expensive perfume for a dog sounds slightly less bizarre.
