You've probably seen the Milwaukee neighborhood posters, commissioned by the city in 1983. Over the subsequent seven years, local graphic artist Jan Kotowicz created 25 of them, each unique, if now just a little dated.
Amazingly, the Milwaukee Department of City Development still has a stock of these posters, and it's selling them for the dirt-cheap price of $3 (plus $2.50 for shipping). Additionally, you can order the retro "Milwaukee Feeds and Supplies the World" poster for just $5.
Each of the neighborhood posters is 15 by 22 inches, and the back contains a history article written by John Gurda. Jump on this deal, fellow Milwaukeeans, before it's too late.
To order by mail, send a check or money order to:
Department of City Development
Attn: Terri Grote
809 N. Broadway
Milwaukee, WI 53202
Include a list of the poster(s) you would like to purchase. The DCD's Web site contains more information and shipping charges.

I love that the city has a stash of these... I also love that the only way you can get them is to snail mail a check or money order. Yep, real old timey!

Years ago I spotted a framed "Milwaukee Feeds and Supplies the World" poster at the King's Pub in Mexico City. I wonder where else these have ended up!

There are a few that are heinous and dated (I pity those who live in those neighborhoods and want the poster) but overall I think they are great. I have been looking for that old style Milwaukee poster for a while now. I would love it if it were bigger. Anyone with an idea?
