Aala is back to doing what it does very well: making Milwaukee men look good.

Aala Reed goes back to just men's wear

Brady Street boutique Aala Reed is back to its old ways again.

After three years of operating as fashion source for both men and women, the store is reverting back to selling solely men's attire, as it did when it originally opened at 1320 E. Brady St. in 2001.

When former neighbor Three Graces relocated to the Third Ward (Three Graces has since closed), Aala Reed's owner Laura Lutter Cole expanded into that space to create an adjoining women's boutique. Now, she says, she is excited about going back to catering exclusively to men.

"The men's clothing industry has done a very good job of adjusting to the downturn economy by offering more reasonable price points that we can in turn pass along to our customers," she says.

"So we've found some great new designers as well as broadening the selection we'll carry from some of our current brands -- Ted Baker, Martin Gordon, Gant, etc.-- all at very attractive prices without compromising the quality of the clothing."

I am sad to see the women's side close soley for the diversity of the store but with Laura's style for men's clothing I am truly excited to have an even larger selection of men's attire. You go Girl!!!
