I dove into LinkedIn and found it to be not terribly useful. Then I flipped open Facebook and have used it to make new connections, reconnect with old friends and bolster my work with OnMilwaukee.com in various ways. I've finally signed up for Twitter, but I'm still finding my feet.
The thing is, I'm so active on Facebook that I'm not sure what to do with Twitter. That's why I've waited so long to hitch my cart to the wagon.
A lot of people tweet their Facebook updates, but that seems kinda lame to me (sorry). After all, I'm saying it in one place, so I don't really see the need to duplicate it somewhere else.
However, I know that although there is a lot of crossover, a lot of tweeters don't use Facebook and vice versa, so maybe I oughta do that.
One thing I've decided to do on my Twitter account -- which is BobbyOnMKEcom -- is focus on Milwaukee and OnMilwaukee.com (OK, I'm following a few Mets beat writers, too, sorry). My Facebook page, while it reflects a lot of what I do here, is also my personal account, so my status updates reflect the fact that many of my friends aren't in Milwaukee or even in the U.S.
But now that I'm a twit(terer), I will try to keep both things interesting. Wish me luck!
