The Riverwest Coop's fourth annual rummage sale is set for this weekend. The three-day event will move inside this year to Our Lady of Divine Providence, 3063 N. Fratney St.
According to organizer Wendy Mesich, the sale will be the most bountiful one to date.
"This year is going to be the best yet, with live music, children's games, a bake sale and food prepared by both the church parishioners and the Coop Café," says Mesich.
The rummage sale runs Friday, July 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hot and cold sandwiches, including Polish sausage and vegan burgers, will enhance the shopping experience.
Proceeds from this year's sale will go towards a new computerized checkout system. Mesich says they will also save a portion of the money to cover winter expenses.
In the past, rummage sale proceeds helped pay for the Coop Café, a cozy eatery connected to the co-op that opened last year inside the building located at 733 E. Clarke St.
"The Riverwest Coop's annual rummage sale has quickly become a neighborhood tradition," says Mesich. "We always get amazing items donated, and we take the time to weed through the less then desirable junk so you don't have to!"
