I’ll Be Seeing You (1944), 85 min. Ginger Rogers, Joseph Cotten, Shirley Temple, Spring Byington Based on the radio play “Christmas Furlough.” It was expanded to more than just the two main characters. Rogers is a prisoner on leave for the Christmas holiday. On a train, she meets Cotten, who has only recently been released from a mental hospital. Their loneliness, shared together, soon turns into love. However, neither one tells the other their secret. Look for a very young John Derek as Shirley’s New Years’ date. The title song was made famous by Frank Sinatra and became a popular love song of the WWII era.
