The sixth annual fundraiser for the non-commercial WMSE will feature 42 restaurants, taverns, and cafés offering 49 varieties of chili (32 meat, 17 vegetarian), all competing for people’s choice awards in four categories. In addition to the traditional Best Meat Chili and Best Vegetarian Chili, awards will be given to the recipe judged to have the Best Heat, and to the restaurant with the Best Table Presentation & Display.

Admission is $5 at the door, and tickets for individual three-ounce bowls of chili are just $1. The ample street parking around the Kern Center is free on Sundays, and additional free parking is available on the MSOE campus in the lot at Broadway & Highland. This event is sponsored by The Onion, Clark Graphics, and the Milwaukee Ale House, who will be on hand to serve beer, soda, and water to sooth the chilies’ burn. WMSE DJ’s Jonny Z (of The Chickenshack) and Dietrich (Saturday Morning Car Tunes) will provide music throughout the event.
