Great Lakes Regional Barista Competition

P.H. Dye Building - 320 E. Buffalo St.
Mar 13 to Mar 16

Event Description

The Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) has awarded Alterra Coffee Roasters and The City of Milwaukee the privilege of hosting the 2008 Great Lakes Regional Barista Competition (GLRBC). This is an event designed to encourage and recognize professional achievement in the art of espresso beverage preparation and service.

The GLRBC is one of ten annual regional barista competitions held nationwide. Professionals from across the Great Lakes region will compete for a regional title, guaranteeing them a spot in the U.S. Barista Championship in May at the 20th Annual SCAA Conference & Exhibition in Minneapolis. Over 50 baristas are expected to participate in that intense competition for the national title and the chance to represent the U.S. at the 10th annual World Barista Championship in Copenhagen, Denmark.
