Event Description Presented by the Milwaukee Chamber Theatre; Directed by Patrick Holland; Featuring Drew Brhel, Leah Dutchin and Mic Matarrese Russia, the 1860s. Raskolnikov, a troubled and poverty-stricken writer, is being interrogated by Porfiry, a policeman investigating the brutal axe-murder of two women. Suspense builds as Raskolnikov unmasks his warped and obsessive philosophy that a crime, however violent, is justified when committed by an “extraordinary” person. Three actors play all the roles in this thrilling, 90-minute deconstruction of Dostoyevsky’s literary masterpiece, an absorbing exploration of murder, motive and the darkest aspects of a human psyche. Winner of the Joseph Jefferson Award for Be st Adaptation
