Billy Bob Thornton, an actor who would rather be known as a musician, gave a prickly interview in Canada last month and it's become an Internet sensation. Here is the video, along with his explanation on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." It seems the interviewer screwed up by introducing Billy Bob as an actor, rather than a musician. Oh, the horror.

Stars must get sick of it. They're asked the same questions over and over; I'm not surprised when they get dang tired of answering them, nor do I blame them. Stars must also get tired of hearing themselves packaged (or mis-packaged) the same way, over and over. That on-air guy had a script, and he still went where all the other idiot interviewers go. He couldn't just give a brief, unscripted intro? Or is everything in the media so tightly controlled these days that that's no longer an option? And so controlled that we have to watch a heavily edited clip of the interview?

For real, high_life_man. While some people may still think it's cute to be the ugly American abroad, this is the Obama era, pal. That misanthropic stuff doesn't play well anymore. It's time to improve our image to the world, and this sure doesn't help.

Stern played this stuff last week. BBT couldn't have been a bigger ahole.
