Milwaukee's Trinity Academy of Dance won its first gold medal in nearly a decade as the Trinity's Junior Girls Figure dance choreography took first place at the 37th World Championship in Irish Dancing held in Glasgow, Scotland recently.
Over 10 days, Trinity – which brought more than 40 students from Milwaukee, Madison and Chicago to an event that has been called the "Olympics of Irish Dance" -- also earned two silver medals and a bronze at the 10-day event, racking up an unprecedented 28 world titles over 22 years, including seven gold medals.
Trinity is the only American team to have ever won a gold medal at the event.
