Annona Bistro, 2643 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., has recently taken a new artistic direction, thanks to newly appointed curator Eddie Villanueva, who you can read about here.
He kickstarted the restaurant gallery in July with a showing of his own collection and now presents "Summer In the City: Works Of Zeph Farmby and Greg Lebrick," Aug. 25 through Sept. 28.
Farmby's work portrays icons of an urban lifestyle in the
traditional mediums of fine art. In his works on canvas, he elevates images of street scenes and hip-hop artists to a level of "high end" art.
Lebrick's "My New York" is a compilation of street photography taken in Manhattan in the summers of 2005, 2006 and 2007. The collection was established as a counter reaction to the redundancy of everyday life. His photographs capture wildly exciting and unexpected moments in the daily grind of New York City.
