Does "Milwaukee" rhyme with anything? How about "karate?" Not really ... |

For five years in a row, OnMilwaukee.com hosted a Milwaukee Poetry Contest. Because we're always moving on to fresh, new ideas, we haven't hosted the contest for a couple of years. However, when we did have the contest, it was held during the month of September, in honor of back-to-school time.
Recently, I was thinking about the poetry contest and I dug up a bunch of old submissions. I read great work by many local writers, but I realized that even though the poems were about Milwaukee, not one writer rhymed the name of our fine city with something else.
So pundits, poets and word nerds, I have a challenge for you: Other than "Pewaukee" and "Ozaukee," what does "Milwaukee" rhyme with?
I already thought of "walkie-talkie," but submit your response via the Talkback feature and you might win a prize.

Wasabi. FTW! Wasabi pronounced Wah-Sah-Bee. Milwaukee pronounced Mah-Wah-Kee.

How about "So stalk me.", "Too soggy", "Too talky", "Too stocky", "Boo Shockey!!" (when the Packers play the Saints), "Ooooooh, saki!!!", "Too cocky", etc. Maybe none of these are dead on, but they could work.

Mostly cities with Indian names, I would think. Packwaukee. Milwaukie (Oregon). The aforementioned Pewaukee. And good ol' Waukee (suburb of Des Moines).
