Rehearsals are over and "Hana's Suitcase" opened Friday night, September 14 at the Todd Wehr Theater in the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. The First Stage production is one of the rare plays that deals with the holocaust and is intended for children.
This play is wonderful and the cast of children have been a glorious pleasure to work with. The evening is full of emotional tugs and serious answers to serious questions.
It's intended for children over the age of 9 or so and, of course, for adults. If you have kids or know kids, bring them to the play, since it's a great way to introduce children to live theater and to expose them to the horrors of the Holocaust in a non-frightening way.
The play runs through the middle of October and the best way to find out more about it and get tickets is to visit firststage.org.
There is nothing like live theater and I hope everyone turns out to see these outstanding kids and this glorious play.
