Founded in Portland, Ore., in 1973 by Bill McCormick and Doug Schmick, when McCormick revived the century-old Jake's Famous Crawfish Restaurant -- a Portland dining landmark -- there are now more than 50 restaurants across the country. The Mayfair location is the first in Wisconsin. Fresh seafood, an interesting wine list and a warm, friendly atmosphere.

I've eaten at the one downtown in Chicago. And all I can say is night & day from the Milwaukee location. Why is that? Why can't we have the excitement of Chicago right in our own backyard. The look was the same (but isn't that what all chains have to do?). But what really bothered me was that, Chicago had an ellegance; where Milwaukee was just another Red Lobster. The service was very kind, but too casual. And the music... ugh the music! Too loud and didn't go with the feel of what this restaurant is known for... classic seafood.

Its hard for me to find healthy place to eat out these days. I was excited when i heard about this new seafood place. The food was awesome. i ordered the Chef's special & hubby ordered blackended tilapia sandwich. Both entrees were awesome. The ambience is really cool, especially the bar area.
