| Description [edit] | |
|
Sarah Jonas and Cameryne Roberts, whose Lulu restaurant and bar was a catalyst for Bay View's renaissance run Juniper 61, in the former Shiraz space in Wauwatosa.
Jonas -- a graduate of MATC's culinary arts and restaurant management programs -- and Culinary Institute of America alum Roberts said they hope to make Juniper 61 a neighborhood restaurant that will reflect its area as well as Lulu reflects Bay View. Juniper 61 does not have the same menu as Lulu's and offers an expanded selection of appetizers and main courses, which have a contemporary twist. |

The food and service at Juniper 61 was outstanding, the home made potato chips served with Blue Cheese dressing were delicious along with the Grilled Tuna Steak, Falafel sandwich and homemade Asian coldslaw. We want to try the battered and deep fried green beans, they look fantastic! However, when we go back again, we will eat at the bar as the dining room was very noisy, had no charm whatsoever other than the pretty tables. We were seated at one of many very small tables and felt practically on top of tables to the right and left of us. The tables were so close together the server could not fit in between them. We felt like we were sitting at the same table as strangers. Otherwise, great food, friendly people and great neighbor location.

WOW! What a nice addition to Tosa! Reasonable, excellent tasting appetizers and sandwiches. The Asian Slaw was awesome and the Tuscan Sandwich were awesome. The Pub Burger was served like a patty melt and it was wonderful. Nice warm environment and is someplace to definitely "hang out" as a meeting place on a regular basis. Can't wait to go back and try some of the stuff we saw other people ordering.

We had dinner at Juniper 61 last night (Dec. 30th) and it was wonderful. Wait-staff was friendly, knowledgeable and always available. Food was delicious. The place was packed and it is a bit loud, but fun. We'll be back!
