Centro Café is a Riverwest restaurant that specializes in Italian fare -- sandwiches, pasta and salads -- as well as a selection of wine and beer. Its interior is modeled after a cozy Brooklyn Italian restaurant.

This is our new favourite spot. What a delight! A New-York style cozy place; food is well-prepared and ambience perfect. Great varied menu; I had the grilled calamari, which was prepared in the Mediterranean style, and so hard to find in Milwaukee, land of breaded everything. My husband had Pasta with Italian sausage; perfectly prepared. Everyone's pasta dishes looked wonderful. Menu is varied and there is something for everyone; all pastas are available gluten-free upon request, and there are even Vegan Meatballs. No smoking policy, a true bonus. Prices incredibly reasonable! The only negative thing that I predict will happen is that this will become everyone's favourite place....and it will be difficult to get into!

Recently visited, it was packed with a waiting list. The host was very gracious and got us a drink while we were waiting for a table. Food was great.

I don't know if the night we went there was our waiter's first day, but the service was terrible!!! Now I recognize that this is a small riverwest place, with a "riverwesty" feel, but that can only excuse so much. Inattentive and borderline rude wait staff, and mediocre food at best.

Had lunch today and it was great. The interior is wonderful and the food is quite good. Prices and moderate and the owners and all staff are friendly and fun to chat with. Do go, they need the traffic and more folks to find this gem in Riverwest.

Stopped in Centro Cafe the first couple of days they were open and things were really good. Now they are great!!! The food outstanding, the service great, the interior is the best in Milwaukee and the cleanest I've ever seen. I just love this place. Hint you better come soon because my gut tells me in the future the wait might be long. Try anything on the Menu and you won't be disappointed and the prices are great. I also love guts it takes to be cash only, stop making the Billion dollar banks richer. I'm a new regular and I wish them the best.
