Cempazuchi's offers creative Mexican, tex-mex items and a bright environment. Tamales are tops, but all the items are great. A modern dining experience on one of Milwaukee's most vibrant streets.

I think the current OnMilwaukee.com description of Cempazuchi is accurate..."creative", "bright environment." But overall, my experiences there have just been average.

I found the atmosphere welcoming and the service attentive last night at Cempazuchi on Brady street. What astounded me was the excellence of the food. I ordered the Arracheras En Chile from their Especiales Regioale de Casa menu. Granted a braised beef dish is not usually a difficult one to complete to satisfaction, but to make an exceptional one takes a special kind of genius. The balance of this plate was brilliant. The tone of the chile sauce was perfect. Every aspect from the imported beer to the totilla chip and peanut salsa complimentary appetizer was brilliant; truly surprising from a place that was so gentle to my pocket book afterward.
