Why the sudden craving? |

The funniest thing happened to me last night at about 10 p.m. I had a sudden craving for a George Webb hamburger.
It was weird. I was lying on my couch, watching the Brewers rally in the ninth inning to beat the Cardinals for their eighth straight win. And all of a sudden, I wanted a Webb burger.
It's funny, because I've been to George Webb millions of times, but usually only for breakfast. In fact, I've only eaten a hamburger there on one other occasion: back in April 1987. I remember it clearly because lots of other people were apparently in the mood for a Webb burger that day. We joined in a line around the block of the restaurant on Teutonia Avenue, near Good Hope Road, as I recall.
Weird, isn't it? And get this: Apparently OnMilwaukee.com reporter Drew Wagner also ate a Webb burger on that day. In fact, he ordered two, and one remains frozen in his mom's freezer to this day. How about that?
Maybe I'm sick or something. Come to think of it, I have been lying on that couch watching the Brewers a lot lately. I thought a few CCs of Sabathia might cure my Brewers Fever, but all his pitching did was make stomp my feet and clap my hands. I sort of felt like I was sitting in the stands.
For now, I'll try to stop thinking about those Webb burgers and see if the craving subsides.
There's plenty of stuff to take my mind off it. For example, the Brewers begin a three-game series against the Astros tonight, then play the Cubs at Miller Park on Monday.
Not that anyone's counting, but if they win four more games, they'll have a 12-game streak going.
And I have no idea why I just wrote that sentence. It surely can't have anything to do with my burger craving, can it?
