Social Circle: What restaurant do you want to try (or try again) but haven't?
Welcome to a weekly segment called "Social Circle." It's truly a group effort between readers, social networkers and the OnMilwaukee.com editors. Every Monday, we ask a question via Facebook and Twitter and then post the responses from our Facebook "likers" and Twitter followers in this column. Well-known Milwaukee movers and shakers will contribute, too.
Everyone has a restaurant they intend to check out, but never do. Or they went once and meant to go again, but for some reason, haven't.
This week, the Social Circle shares which restaurants fall into these categories for them, and we want to hear from you, too, so use the Talkback feature to weigh in.
And then go to that restaurant this weekend and indulge yourself after a long holiday season.
Bodhi Ayurveda: "Lake Park Bistro."
Sarah Berg: "Pastiche. It's three blocks from my house."
Michael Buehler: "Crazy Water."
Geoff Carter: "Coquette."
Denise Cawley: "Roots."
Neal Cavanugh: "Sanford."
Shaun Cross: "Sabor. Those cheese biscuits are heaven and the cuts of meat are perfectly cooked. It's just a little pricey."
Jim Draeger: "Pastiche."
Matthew P. Eells: "Roots."
B. Scott Eiche: "Jerry's in Germantown. I could go for a rack of ribs without the drive."
Neille Hoffman: "Tess and all of the new ones I have yet to try."
Jeramey Jannene: "Sanford, but my wallet keeps turning up too light."
Tammy Kaishian: "Las Fajitas. Shhh. It's a secret. It's not crowded and the best chile rellenos I have had in 20 years."
Juli Kaufmann: "Ditto on Sanford. Why don't I go more often?"
Theresa Kilkenney: "Sanford. I'm afraid to call ..."
Troy Lucas: "Tulip."
Dave Mikolajek: "The Gobbler."
Amy Mizialko: "Three Brothers."
Dwight Moss: "Eddie Martini's. Best service in town."
Erin Murdoch: "Cafe Corazon. But I am an out-of-towner."
Elizabeth Reichman: "Mimma's."
Casey Renn: "Centro Cafe."
Robin Shea: "La Merenda. Seriously, need to get back there."
Tracy Sparrow: "Roots."
Mary Thompson: "Crazy Water. I got a gift certificate, though."
Timothy P. Twaddle: "Cempazuchi. Went there for my birthday, with my parents several years ago, and I really enjoyed it."
Ric Vespa: "Revolution on Morgan. The very best southern Mexican in Milwaukee. I gotta get back there."
Keith C. White: "Rustico. Great food, but not having a car makes travel tough."
Tami Williams: "Crazy Water."
Caitlin Zhenotdel: "Coquette in the Third Ward. Best French food this side of the Atlantic. I always mean to go back, but somehow never make it."
For me it was Three Brothers, but finally did that a few weeks ago. Still on my list: Crazy Water, Pastiche, Hue, Coquette, Tulip.
