Bartolotta plans a complete overhaul of the North Point Snack Bar.

Bartolotta's brings burgers and custard to Bradford Beach

Your summer on Bradford Beach just got a bit tastier.

As mentioned in Bobby Tanzilo's article on Nonna Bartolotta's last month, Bartolotta Restaurant Group is working toward grilling burgers and scooping custard at the North Point snack bar this summer.

The Milwaukee restaurateur will transform the yellow and brown building on the south end of Bradford Beach into an old fashioned custard stand complete with burgers, malts, fries and ample outdoor seating.

"A burger and custard stand may seem out of the ordinary for a company that specializes in fine dining establishments, but the reality is, as much as I love our restaurants, deep down I really love a great burger and awesome Wisconsin frozen custard," Joe Bartolotta says in Bartolotta's Bon Giornale newsletter.

Northpoint's weekday hours will be 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with additional breakfast hours from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Bartolotta is also working on a similar concept for the main concourse at Mitchell International Airport that will be called Lotta Burgers.

Stopped there today and enjoyed a cheeseburger and crinkle cut french fries. The burger was served (medium well, forgot to tell them well done) on a toasted Sciortino's roll and is made to your liking...(choice of cheese, pickles, raw or sauteed onions, mushrooms, etc.). French fries were made from Yukon Gold potatoes and were delicious! The friend I was with had been there a week earlier and was very impressed with her cheeseburger and was eager to try something else on their menu. She ordered the fish sandwich, but did not like it; after a couple bites, she tossed it and ordered herself a cheeseburger. The eating area and picnic tables were clean and well-maintained. They are renovating the bathrooms right now and had port-o-johns available. I will definitely go back, but want to try their home-made fudge sauce on one of their sundaes!
