Huan Xi replaces Hop Sheng
A few weeks ago, Hop Sheng Chinese restaurant changed hands and now has a new name, Huan Xi.
The restaurant offers dine-in, carry-out or delivery service. Lunches start at $4.95 and most dinners are between $8 and $11. Online ordering is available.
The space is inviting and clean. It appears the dining room got a fresh coat of light green paint and six clothed tables fill the small but sunny space.
Huan Xi is open Monday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. and on Sunday from noon to 10 p.m.

Visited Huan Xi over the holidays and was delighted to find the traditional Chinese menu to order from. I was not dissapointed. The dumplings were as good as they get. We also ordered salt pepper squid and the eggplant. Both dishes were delicious. Glad to have a quality authentic Chinese restuarant so close to home. I'll be back.
FINALLY-Good Authentic Chinese food on the East Side.. Though, HungryinMilwaukee says it so much better.. "Huan Xi, a new hope" http://hungryinmilwaukee.com/2010/09/27/huan-xi-a-new-hope/
Huan Xi has been a great place to check out - I ordered take out for a group of friends last night and everyone was impressed. I have also stopped in and noticed that the space is very inviting.
"inviting and clean"? You had to mention that a restaurant is "clean"? Perhaps I have higher standars but shouldn't every restaurant be clean?. Mentioning that the place is clean says to me that it's one of the few things the place has going for it.
