Do you need your caffeine fix in the morning? If you are like most Americans, you said "yes." Lucky for you, downtown Milwaukee has some great choices for a quick cup on the go or a leisurely morning meeting over lattes. To help you pick some of the best coffees and coffee drinks downtown, Sara Eaton, a Milwaukee Downtown Public Service Ambassador, has put together a list of her downtown favorites.

  • Mocha made with real Hershey's® syrup, Midwest Espresso, 411 E. Wisconsin Ave., (414) 272-1222.
  • Cream City Ice, a blended soft-serve coffee drink, Stone Creek Coffee, 215 E. Wisconsin Ave., (414) 273-5403.
  • Nectar's house coffee with a shot of Irish cream, Nectar Espresso Bar and Café, 708 N. Milwaukee St., (414) 224-8100.
  • Milwaukee Octane, Milwaukee River Mud, Mitchell Domes Drip or any of the six custom coffee blends celebrating Milwaukee at Steamer's Coffee, 624 N. Water St., (414) 277-7679.
  • Alterra coffee made using their French press, a traditional coffee-making method that adds a heavy body to complement the flavor of the beans, at Bella Caffe, 189 N. Milwaukee St., (414) 273-5620.

This week's "Best of" list was chosen by Public Service Ambassador Sara Eaton
