Even though Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, owner of Mitchell's Fish Market and Cameron's Steakhouse, sold its Fish Market chain and steakhouses to Ruth's Chris last week, their Bayshore Towne Center location will remain open, as is, for the time being.

"The sale will actually not affect the Bayshore location. They were not part of the deal and will be staying on as part of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants," said the Cameron Mitchell marketing department via an e-mail.

Carolyn Delp, Cameron Mitchell's vice president of marketing, told the Columbus Dispatch's Web site, dispatch.com, that Cameron Mitchell (in Wisconsin at Bayshore) "will continue to be owned and operated by Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. It is underperforming and the company is exploring alternatives for it, which could include another concept."

In total, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants agreed to sell two-thirds of its locations to Ruth's Chris Steak House Inc. for $94 million.

I enjoyed Cameron's Bayshore. The food was quite good and the service, while a little "new", was above the usual Milwaukee standards. I was back in Columbus, OH for the holidays and dined at Cameron's new restaurant, Marcella's. It was incredible. It's a small plate Italian concept. While it wasn't ground breaking cuisine, everything was prepared well and tasted amazing. I would love to see Cameron convert the Bayshore location over to this concept. He has already switched one location in northern Columbus to Marcella's after the downtown location proved very popular.

So the rumors it was doing bad and close to closing are true!! Isn't there a Mitchell's Fish Market at Brookfield Square?

And Cameron's at Bayshore is TERRIBLE - Had one of the worst High-Priced meals of my life at that place... so bad that a week later the owner contacted me and offered to mail me a certificate for my next time. That was about a year ago (I went right after it opened). I still have not received my gift certificate. I only hope that eventually, Ruth's Chris will take over that location.
