I give this bubbler a 9 on the Public Hydration Scale.

Milwaukee's best bubbler

I've slurped water from hundreds, maybe thousands, of Milwaukee bubblers, but every time I take a drink from the one in Back Bay Park I think to myself, "This is a damn fine bubbler. Perhaps the city's finest." (Or something like that.)

So, if you, like me, are a connoisseur of the bubbler, this is worth noting.

Back Bay Park, on on Terrace Avenue on Milwaukee's East Side, has a small-but-mighty bubbler that's a popular stopping place for runners, rollerbladers and playground kids and their parents. In my experience, it is always cold -- but not too cold -- and just the right amount of pressure. (I hate wimpy bubbler dribble or when it arcs too high and blasts you in the face.)

This town has other bubblers worth bending over for, and perhaps you know of one. If so, enlighten us via the Talkback feature.

Another great one is located in Lake Park inside the community room underneath Lake Park Bistro. It's always cold and the doors have always been open when I'm running and in need of a drink.

Disappointing to hear the water was too warm. I am usually there in the early evening, when it is shaded. So, this is Milwaukee's best bubbler after 5 p.m.

I tried the Back Bay Park bubbler on Sunday. Great water pressure but way too warm.

jakkalope - there's a valid reason why we call them bubblers - there used to be a company called Bubbler that made them and the water actually did bubble up from the center. To me, and I'm sure to many other Milwaukeeans, fountain brings to mind a sculpture that spits out water or something along those lines. I suppose you call soda "pop," too - even though you RARELY see that on the can, but you'll nearly ALWAYS see soda.
