First look at Ryan Braun's new patio
The Miami-inspired design of Ryan Braun's Waterfront, 102 N. Water St., continues to evolve this weekend as the restaurant unveils phase one of its patio.
It includes two horseshoe couches that add seating for 18, as well as a new bar with translucent, backlit panels, a concrete top and bamboo on the backside that matches the design of the inside's main bar. The patio, built by George Welsh of Welsh Construction and Wade Weissmann of Wade Weissmann Architecture, now seats 90. Peabody's Interior Design did the design work.
"We knew we had a unique concept for the restaurant, and with the combination of the waterfront location and Ryan's name, it was important for us to carry the uniqueness to our outdoor dining," said Craig Martin, general manager. "We were fortunate to work with some of the best designers and contractors that allowed us to get the patio completed in time for the upcoming summer festivals."
In addition to the new patio, servers have new uniforms designed by Braun himself. "Ryan wanted to have a creative, fresh look that was a reflection on the type of design and decor of the Waterfront. He took his clothing line, Remetee, and designed the shirt around the artistic brand that it is and we came up with the look for the uniforms that the staff are currently wearing," said Nez Balelo, Braun's agent with CAA Sports.
A second phase of the patio will consist of cabanas and a private area off of the VIP Lounge. It is expected to be completed by July.

That riverwalk patio was built when the building first went up. All George Welsh and Wade Weissmann did was build a bar and put a couple of couches on it

Interesting comments from someone with the handle of "PlayerGotGame." My guess is that this "Player" went to Ryan Braun's one night and struck out with one of these so-called "jersey-chasers" so he felt the need to trash it. Sad part is that he's using that place as a pick-up joint....might I suggest Taylor's or Victor's?

Food and crowd are good here. Patio is great and the front bar has a cool feel too. It's a good crowd, not all sports guys -- pretty normal mix of Downtown residents, visitors and others. Try it.

I met a co-worker here for drinks last night. The entire place was full of d-bag guys and vapid, money-sucking young girls who weren't nearly as hot as they acted. Steer clear unless you are a jersey chaser or a guy who likes the ones out of the shallow end of the gene pool.
