The votes are in, and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2008. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.

October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, special features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food. Bon appetit!

Coquette Café, 316 N. Milwaukee St., is one of those "must try" Milwaukee restaurants. A meal at this French-inspired bistro begins with a warm, crusty bageuette, or, perhaps, a bowls of the soupe a l'oignon (French onion soup, for you non-French speakers), but it's the way the meal ends that is getting the spotlight in this OnMilwaukee.com "Best Of" category.

OnMilwaukee.com food writer Amy Schubert calls the desserts at Coquette "a definite necessity." The crème brulee was the best she's tried in town, with a lovely poppy seed and light lemon custard. The cafe offers a homemade sorbet du jour, as well as key lime pie, chocolate mousse and, new for the fall / winter season, banana bread pudding.

Schubert suggests topping it off with a Coquette Café (coffee infused with Godiva dark, Godiva white and Grand Marnier and topped with fresh whipping cream) for the perfect end to a perfect meal.
